Dr Francesco Lemma is the EACMFS Trainee Representative 2018-2024. He was graduated in Medicine at the University of Perugia (IT), , and then in Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Verona (IT). During his education, he worked in the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Trieste (IT), and in the Departments of Maxillofacial Surgery of the Universities of Verona, Modena and Padua (IT). He attended courses at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (BE) and the University of Liverpool (UK). He participated as speaker in national and international scientific congresses, and is the author of scientific publications. Currently, he works in the Department of Maxillofacial Surgery of the Ospedale dell’Angelo Venice-Mestre  and he is a Tutor for OMFS  trainee at University of Verona, He is completing his Dentistry Degree at the University of Perugia. Main fields of expertise: oncology, 3D virtual planning and pre-prosthetic surgery.

Activities related to Azerbaijan:

Prof. I. Yıldırım was the first organizer in medicine for the improvement of medical education and advanced training, who signed a contract and agreement between Azerbaijan Medical University and Istanbul University.

Prof. I. Yıldırım was 10 students in 1992 and: in the last 20 years, 92 medical students, 3 dental students, 2 pharmacy students were selected to study at the Faculties of Istanbul University and scholarships and other needs for their education were provided.

Sırmahan Çakarer was born in 1979 in Istanbul, Turkey. She studied dentistry at the Istanbul University during 1997-2002. She did her residency and Ph.D at the department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the same university. After having her Ph.D degree in 2008 about distraction osteogenesis; she did a fellowhip in maxillofacial surgery at the Teaching Hospital of Muenster University. After completing her fellowship she visited Boston University, Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery as observer in order to extent her knowledge in TMJ surgery and orthognatic surgery. She promoted to associate professor in 2012 and professor in 2020. She has numerous national and international presentations and publications in the field of oral and maxillofacial surgery. 

Dr Çakarer serves as general secretary of Turkish Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery for the last ten years and she is already faculty in Istanbul University Faculty of Dentistry at the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. 

Dr. Fatih Coşkunses was born in İzmit in 1980. He graduated from Marmara University Faculty of Dentistry and earned his doctorate from Ankara University Faculty of Dentistry, specializing in Oral and Maxillofacial Diseases and Surgery in 2011. From 2013 to 2021, he pursued his academic studies at Kocaeli University Faculty of Dentistry, specializing in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He currently continues his studies at Istanbul Health & Technology University and also runs his own private clinic. Dr. Fatih Coşkunses has published more than 40 international and national articles.

He is a member of the Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Association (AÇBİD), Turkish Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Association (TAOMS), International Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Association (IAOMS), AO Foundation and International Team of Implantology (ITI).

Professor Sıdıka Sinem Akdeniz(DDS, PhD) was born in Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. She received her dentistry degree from Hacettepe University in the year 2007. She completed PhD program of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery of Başkent University in 2011. She worked as an observer in University College of London Hospital during her PhD education.She worked on The Assessment of Dose Related Effects of Nitrogen Containing Bisphosphonates on Oral Mucosa Cell Culture for her PhD thesis. She continued working in Başkent university first as a specialist and then in the academic staff after she received her PhD degree. 

Currently, she has worked as a professor and the department chair of Baskent University Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery since 2021. She is a member of Turkish Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (TAOMS), ACBID and International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, is a member of board of management of ACBİD and is in organizing and education committee of ACBİD Resident School.

Professor Akdeniz also gives private courses on advanced implantology, alveolar bone augmentation techniques and orthognathic surgery in various educational organizations.

Temporomandibular joint disorders’ clinical and surgical treatment, trauma, orthognathic surgery, and surgical treatment of maxillofacial pathologies, dentoalveolar surgery, dental implantology and alveolar reconstruction techniques are among her special areas of interest.

Prof.Dr.Benlidayı graduated from Çukurova University Faculty of Dentistry in 2001. He completed his doctorate and specialization training in the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Department of the same faculty in 2008. He visited London King's College Hospital Maxillofacial Surgery Department in 2006 and Salzburg Paracelsus Medical University Maxillofacial Surgery Department in 2014 and engaged in clinical and academic activities.

He undertook the task of course director at the Çukurova Orthognatic Surgery Days and Cadaver Course, which was held for the first time in 2016 and for the second time in 2018 in Türkiye.

Prof.Dr.M.Emre BENLIDAYI worked as the Head of the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Çukurova University Faculty of Dentistry between 2014 and 2017. In 2019, he was elected as a board member of the Turkish Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

Prof.Dr.M.Emre BENLIDAYI, who received the title of Associate Professor in 2013 and the title of Professor in 2019, has more than 60 articles published in national and international journals, and more than 200 posters/oral papers presented in national and international congresses. More than 900 references have been made to Dr. Benlidayı's publications to date.

He has clinical and experimental projects supported by TÜBİTAK, Dentsply, ITI, TFI and Çukurova University Scientific Research Projects Unit.

Prof.Dr.M.Emre BENLIDAYI, who is still a faculty member at Çukurova University Faculty of Dentistry, Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, is interested in orthognathic surgery, advanced implant surgery, cleft lip and palate surgery and hard tissue laboratory research.

He was born in Istanbul in 1983. After he graduated from Marmara University Faculty of Dentistry (Istanbul) he finished his specialty training at Istanbul University Faculty of Dentistry (Istanbul), Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Department  and became a faculty member in the same department. He performed ENT fellowship for six months in Istanbul University, Cerrahpasa Faculty of Medicine, Department of Otorhinolaryngology in 2015. Also he worked in Osnabruck, Germany, at Clinicum Osnabruck Department of Maxillofacial Surgery, and in London, England, at St.Georges Medical University Department of Maxillofacial Surgery as fellow. In 2022 he graduated from Bezmialem Foundation University, Faculty of Medicine and he had medical degree.  In August 2019, he received the title of Associate Professor in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Erol CANSIZ has been working in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery of Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine since 2019 and with an additional task at the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery of Istanbul University Faculty of Dentistry, academically and clinically.
