Sırmahan Çakarer was born in 1979 in Istanbul, Turkey. She studied dentistry at the Istanbul University during 1997-2002. She did her residency and Ph.D at the department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the same university. After having her Ph.D degree in 2008 about distraction osteogenesis; she did a fellowhip in maxillofacial surgery at the Teaching Hospital of Muenster University. After completing her fellowship she visited Boston University, Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery as observer in order to extent her knowledge in TMJ surgery and orthognatic surgery. She promoted to associate professor in 2012 and professor in 2020. She has numerous national and international presentations and publications in the field of oral and maxillofacial surgery. 

Dr Çakarer serves as general secretary of Turkish Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery for the last ten years and she is already faculty in Istanbul University Faculty of Dentistry at the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. 

Dr. Fatih Coşkunses was born in İzmit in 1980. He graduated from Marmara University Faculty of Dentistry and earned his doctorate from Ankara University Faculty of Dentistry, specializing in Oral and Maxillofacial Diseases and Surgery in 2011. From 2013 to 2021, he pursued his academic studies at Kocaeli University Faculty of Dentistry, specializing in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He currently continues his studies at Istanbul Health & Technology University and also runs his own private clinic. Dr. Fatih Coşkunses has published more than 40 international and national articles.

He is a member of the Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Association (AÇBİD), Turkish Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Association (TAOMS), International Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Association (IAOMS), AO Foundation and International Team of Implantology (ITI).
